The client requested an oil painting presenting both dogs posing together. The dog on the left had sadly passed, therefore the challenge was to bring them together and to match the lighting and colours from two separate timelines and photographs. The client asked for a realistic style with a plain background, therefore I made the decision to include a pastel blue matte background to juxtapose with the dogs in the foreground. This not only compliments interior decor but adds a certain level of personal trait from myself as an artist, as this is one of my signature moves. The sizing is a clean cut square, not too large and intimidating but not too small either, presenting a great addition to their home, and a lovely way to honour their pets.
